Cyanotype 1899 by vmcampos Cyanotype 1899 by vmcampos
This is a photograph I took in Sinaloa, Mexico. I took the photo with my Canon Digital Rebel XT, on January 2008. As I started to experiment with the image to make something interesting out of it, I got the idea of turning it black and white. Then I added a tint; I was going to go for a sepia tone, but I wandered into the blue spectrum. It came to me: Cyanotype! If you don't know about the history of photography, a Cyanotype is an early photographic method where the image is not black and white, but shades of blue. (Go to Wikipedia for the full details).
So I went with the Cyanotype concept. The file number was 1899, so I added it to the title. A field that has been plowed for generations. 2008, 1899.
